Do you feel unworthy or delayed in life? Are you tired of just getting by? Have you ever wondered what your purpose is in life? Have you ever thought of how your life would be had you known its true meaning? If your answer is yes to any of these questions, this book is for you.
Questions about purpose arise spontaneously throughout our lives. The subject of purpose has always been met with differing views. No subject has caused much thought and ambiguity like that of purpose. While some acknowledge its importance, others believe it is a concept made up by humans. This is however, not surprising. In a world full of fragile, lost and hurting hearts, it is so difficult to explain the purpose of human existence without igniting strong emotions. At the heart of it all lays the painful truth; you cannot live long enough to fulfil all that God has called you to do.
But what has God called you to do? Is it possible to make the most out of your years here on earth? When you look back as your life nears its ending, what would you leave behind? What would you want to be remembered for? How would you want someone to summarize the years you spent on this planet? Would it be an exemplary life or a life full of regrets?
Our journey of life is shaped by a change in the questions we ask. When we get the whys, we can actually solve the hows. The answer to the question of purpose is simple: our lives have meaning. We are called to a higher purpose. What then, is purpose?
Purpose can be defined as a conscious life, intended for God’s ultimate plan which is evident in a person’s decisions and actions and will influence his or her entire existence on earth. As Robert Bryne puts it, ‘The purpose of life is a life of purpose.’
Like a seed planted deep in the ground, discovering your purpose will unfold slowly. Others may have loftier parts to enact; but you are uniquely pottered and purposed by your Maker.
You need to move from ignorance to wisdom. Eyes are useless when the mind is blind. God alone knows the way; He knows the place where wisdom is found.
Your purpose is you. Find out what God wants you to do and do it for Him. Pick your gift and align it with God’s plan. Your purpose is a part of God’s bigger plan and should always be in alignment with God’s ultimate plan.
Are you broken? Do you relate with these words of David? “2I am worn out, O Lord; have pity on me! Give me strength; I am completely exhausted 3and my whole being is deeply troubled. How long, O Lord, will you wait to help me? 4Come and save me, Lord; in your mercy rescue me from death. 5In the world of the dead you are not remembered; no one can praise you there. 6I am worn with grief; every night my bed is damp from my weeping; my pillow is soaked with tears. 7I can hardly see my eyes are so swollen from the weeping caused by my enemies” (Psalm 6:2-7). Brother, sister, if this is your story, weep no more. Your enemies will be driven away in sudden confusion. What looked like the end will actually be the beginning. It all lies in the discovery of your purpose.
Perhaps, you have lost track of time and reason, but it is never too late to take a step in the right direction. It is never too late to be what you might have been. Take up your godly mandate. Your purpose awaits you. You are still capable of being what God has called you to be. Choose to live a life with purpose.
Maybe you are thinking of living the way you please for some time, before fully committing yourself to your purpose. Well, hurry before it’s too late. There is never ‘enough time.’
