Description
INTRODUCTION
A Girl’s Best Friend is one of those books I didn’t
see coming!
For years, I have had strenuous relationships with
my fellow women. I have been misunderstood,
misinterpreted, mistreated, and misled by the
female gender.
I have also been on the other side, perpetrating
these acts and being angry at my fellow woman for
one thing or the other!
But is that how God intended it to be?
Are women supposed to be at each other’s throats,
cutting through the corners of such a delicate
organ?
Or are we supposed to work together to find our
unique voices in order to liberate the world?
xiA GIRL’S BEST FRIEND
A Girl’s Best Friend is that book you should
have read 10 years ago. It speaks to your heart
and reveals certain notions that have been
misconstrued over the years.
Contrary to popular belief, diamonds are not a girl’s
best friend.
Are diamonds there when you need them the most,
when you need a shoulder to cry on, someone to
hug you, someone to compliment you, someone to
validate your feelings?
Books. Chocolate. Makeup. Dogs. Love. Shoes.
Money. Career are not a girl’s best friend either!
A Girl’s Best Friend is another girl who she can
open up to about her struggles, fears and failures
without being judged. One she can share her
successes with, without being envied. One who can
be there for her, without feeling inadequate! One
who would teach her the value of self-love and how
to spot genuine love.
When I went through a difficult time in my life, I
found that there were women I could count on to
walk me through my struggles. It was hard if you
asked me, but these women held me up in prayer,
encouraging me with words of hope and peace.

So I ask, Who is standing behind the curtain for
you to be successful? Who is holding the door open
for you to walk through? Who will lift you up when
you are down with all your worries? Who will be by
your side when it’s not convenient? Certainly not
that pretty object!
Diamonds shine and sparkle.
Books liberate your mind.
Chocolate makes you happy.
Makeup lifts your mood.
Dogs make you feel safe.
Love makes your world go round.
Shoes make you feel confident.
Money pays your bills.
Career makes you feel secured.
But a girl’s best friend will always be there for her.
Your self-esteem will suffer discouragement at
some point.
Your shoes won’t matter when you are depressed.
Depending on a partner is a thing of the past.
xiiiA GIRL’S BEST FRIEND
Even your children who you adore may have their
own limitations.
Women need each other and once we lose sight of
this all-important bond, we tend to give in to men
who do not value the grace we carry.
If only I had that girl’s support group I have today, I
wouldn’t have trauma bonded. I would have learnt
that love does not come with pain.
As women, we need friendship and a support
system. We need friends that will empower us
and nourish us. Friendship is so valuable. It has
immense benefits for your mental and physical
health.
Don’t make the same mistake I made—cutting your
friends off just because you got married or your
spouse is your best friend.
Having a female best friend who will be real with
you, letting you see things from an objective point of view should not be compromised.
When your heart recognizes pain as being familiar and comfortable, you dramatically struggle to leave a place that you know is bad for you.
This book addresses why women in abusive relationships get stuck because they have no
xivSquare Hole, R ound Peg: Finding Your Tribe support system or anyone to go to.
A Girl’s Best Friend highlights the importance of female friendships and why it is necessary to have them.
If you’re looking to build relationships with other women, this book is for you!
If you’re looking to reawaken and strengthen the bond with your female friends, you’re in the right place.
Women doubt themselves often, so it is my prayer that you will find your tribe who will make you feel confident in yourself again.
I pray you see other women the way God sees
them, and not let any man or object stand in the way of your friendship.
So sit back, relax, and enjoy, you’re in good company!
